At Kessingland Church of England Primary Academy we hope that children learn to take pride in themselves and in their school. Uniform is compulsory but children also need to feel comfortable. Our school uniform achieves these aims and is as follows:
- Grey or black skirts, trousers or tailored shorts
- Green gingham summer dress
- White polo shirt
- Green sweatshirt, fleece, cardigan or jumper
- Appropriate black shoes.
We advise parents to provide flat shoes to avoid any accidents that could occur. School shoes should be worn all year and no open sandals should be worn during the summer weather.
Appropriate black low heeled boots may be worn in winter.
Sweatshirts and white polo shirts can be purchased from Screens It is important that each item of clothing is clearly marked with your child’s name. All lost uniform will be returned to pupils if it is named.
No hooded tops are allowed to be worn as uniform.
Jewellery
Jewellery should not be worn for school, with the possible exception of wrist watches or earrings with a rounded stud.
All jewellery must be removed for all physical education activities including swimming. In the case of earrings, these must be removed or covered with sticking plaster or tape.
Sportswear
All children in KS1 and KS2 will need 2 sets of PE kit – indoors and outdoors.
Children will need black shorts, black plimsolls and their house colour t-shirt for indoor PE. As children will be taking part in sport and PE outside during the colder months, they will need a warm tracksuit to wear with outdoor trainers.
House colour t-shirts are available to buy from the school office at £2 each.
A swimming costume, towel and hat for swimming will also be required for Years 4, 5 and 6 children.
